About Gayle Bates Gayle's energetic and interactive presentations are designed to meet a range of learning outcomes in grades K through 7 in School Districts #71 and #72. Utilizing an eclectic educational tool kit. Gayle customizes each presentation to the age and knowledge of the class or group. |
While integrating current local and global information into an evolving series of waste reduction and water efficiency* presentations, Gayle uses concrete examples and suggestions to motivate and encourage participants to use their water efficiently and to reduce unnecessary waste.
(*Water Efficiency presentations are not available to School District #72 classes or in Campbell River. Please visit www.campbellriver.ca for local options.)
All presentations are absolutely free of charge. This service of the Comox Strathcona waste management (a function of the Comox Valley Regional District) is funded through tipping fees. Yes – this education series is a good example of recycling. People pay tipping fees to get rid of their garbage; those fees fund this education program. This education program supports those same people in reducing their garbage and subsequently their tipping fees in the future.
