Cannabis Disposal in Yard Waste
Beginning October 17, 2018, Canadian households will be allowed to grow up to four cannabis plants. Household cannabis plants will be accepted as a yard waste product at our landfill sites.
Yard waste is defined as uncontaminated, non-invasive vegetation removed from gardens, lawns, shrubs and trees with a maximum diameter of 30 cm. For more information please see our Solid Waste Fees and Charges Bylaw No. 170.
Commercial operators looking to dispose of cannabis plants at CSWM facilities are required to contact us to make special arrangements depending on the volume requirements.
