Acceptable materials include most common household paper, plastic and cartons, plus steel and aluminum materials. These depots accept the same materials that are accepted through curbside recycling programs.
This unstaffed CSWM recycling depots does not accept glass, plastic bags and outer wrap or foam packaging. However, these items can all be accepted Recycle BC Depots, as well as at the the Campbell River Waste Management Centre and Comox Valley Waste Management Centre.

What to Expect: May 30 – October 2026
From May 30 to October 2026, the existing mixed recycling bins will be moved to the new depot location and will be supplemented with the addition of fibre (cardboard) bins as well as Recycle BC pop-up events for selected materials. The new depot will have an operator on-site during business hours who will be available to help reduce contamination rates of the existing mixed recycling bins and to help residents learn about what will be accepted once the full transition to a Recycle BC supported depot occurs.
Recycle BC Pop-Up Events
From May 30 – October 2026, Recycle BC pop-up events will be held twice per month. At the events, three categories of materials will be collected: flexible plastics, glass and foam.
