We are proud to announce that Comox Strathcona Waste Management, a function of the Comox Valley Regional District, is the recipient of a Leader in Sustainability Award for 2022.
Last year, almost 4.4 million kilograms of batteries were diverted from landfill. Our region's contribution to these efforts totaled 5, 913 kilograms of batteries through the Call2Recycle battery collection and recycling program.
To date, the Call2Recycle program has collected and recycled almost 40 million kilograms of batteries from across Canada! This achievement would not be possible without the ongoing participation of people from across Canada.
We value our communities contribution and thank you for helping us divert as much as possible from landfill.
